CERT Training

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERTprogram educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. The first rule is to help you and your family before going to assist others.

SFC is fortunate to have the volunteer services of an experienced ham radio operator and CERT trainer. For more information on this and other equipment, contact John at w6fqx@arrl.net or email info@sherwoodfirewise.org.

When all else fails in an emergency, ham radios provide communication, as well as requesting and coordinating resources and responses from different agencies. Join SFC to receive information on trainings and support for programming your radio equipment.
